Building profitable services and business models enabled by Telecoms APIs

Welcome to the third annual IIR telecoms API conference where the debate has now moved on from 'what are APIs and how do I get involved' to, 'how do I build profitable services and business models enabled by Telecoms APIs'. The successful inaugural conference in 2013 brought together the operators and aggregators leading the way in API deployment to share their experiences in setting up different API models and building relationships with developers. And now, this third event focusses on the details of how telecom operators can generate new income streams by using APIs.

  tel1

This is the meeting place for international telco operators, aggregators and developers to come together and evaluate the success of services that have been introduced with carrier billing, SMS, user ID, Call Control and any more APIs, determine the real value of public API initiatives and standards, review the infrastructure requirements and consider the implications of WebRTC and SDN for API development.   It also analyses the products and services that third-party API solution providers can bring to the market and assesses the business case for working with aggregators or directly with developers. APIs potentially offer telco operators an opportunity to open up new markets, to generate extra revenues from the customers and assets they already have in place, and to deliver services that add more value and make their services stickier. This event offers the knowledge and the networking to take advantage of this opportunity and position for, long term growth.  We look forward to seeing you in October.

This event will give telcos the knowledge and tools to:

  • Understand what developers looking for from telecoms API
  • Evaluate successful telco public-APIs
  • Meet the day to day challenges of API management: tight budgets; risk; on boarding
  • Make the case for developing internal APIs
  • Develop an API monetisation platform
  • Optimise the processes for reusing APIs to build profitable services
  • Determine success factors for Private APIs, including: carrier billing; SMS; user ID, Call Control
  • Enable M2M and IoT services with APIs
  • Make the case for APIs giving access to SDN control
  • Take advatange of the opportunities offered by WebRTC and telco API initiatives
  • Determine whether there is still an appetite for telco API standards
  • Assess the business case for working with aggregators
  • Examine the role of telco APIs in enabling cloud services

The full industry ecosystem will be in attendance:

  TelAPI Industry

Excellent insights on the operators concerns, and created a forum for discussing how to address the new challenges.

Ericsson

An excellent opportunity for knowledge sharing on hot topics of the industry.

Deutsche Telekom

It's great that the telecoms industry is talking about this important subject (APIs) and are raising issues which need to be overcome to expand market offerings.

Thomson Reuters

Good cutting edge topics. Very interesting and applicable.
